Two people filing jointly for Chapter 7 bankruptcy are entitled to equal protection under federal bankruptcy laws — including the automatic stay. Married couples and individuals are eligible for Chapter 7; unmarried individuals cannot file jointly. The automatic stay is a major reason why some couples file for bankruptcy. The stay is a legal injunction signed by a judge and is granted to everyone filing for bankruptcy.

Why Won’t Corporate America Support Single Payer Medicare-for-All?

On the surface, it appears to be a no-brainer. Healthcare costs in the U. S. are twice as high as any other industrialized country. Most large corporations still pay a big chunk of their employees’ health care insurance premiums. Some are obligated by union contracts to pay an even larger percentage and to provide coverage for retirees. Many operate profitably in countries with national health care systems where they pay far less towards healthcare costs than they do in the U.S..

So, from a straight bottom line business perspective, corporations should be leading the fight to replace our dysfunctional, overpriced, for-profit private insurance system with a single-payer, Medicare-for-All model. Y

There are many reasons for you to have your own merchant account to handle your credit card processing in your business transaction as and when it happened. It is commonly accepted by the market to have your own merchant business account rather than using your personal account to accept business transactions, anyway you may have a problem with your business related tax count at the end of the year in your personal account, while at the same time you have your own personal tax issue related with your personal account. So, there are more reasons for you as to why you need to have your own merchant account.

It is commonly acceptable now to be able to accept credit cards payment for the service or items/goods you sell to your customer.

Insurers Fight Over Dropped State Farm Flood Insurance Policies

Insurance companies hoping to gain access to over 800,000 free-agent flood insurance policies are fighting on Capitol Hill this week. Since State Farm Insurance dropped the policies last year to lighten its burden, other major insurers hope to gain control of them to increase their profits.

Major Insurers Want Control over Policies

A number of major insurance companies, including Fidelity National, Allstate, Travelers and The Hartford are hoping to gain access to flood insurance policies State Farm dropped last year, which represent approximately 15 percent of the $3.3-billion flood insurance market.

While State Farm did not insure property against floods or storm surges–this is handled by the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)–the program relies on private insurers to administer the policies and State Farm was NFIP’s largest administrator.

State Farm dropped its policies in the middle of 2010 as it, among other insurers, grew frustrated with the shaky NFIP and its continual expirations, which left many policyholders without coverage for weeks at a time. Now th
